What do students think about today's issues?

My summer school students are doing a blog as part of their summer project. They have to post and comment about current events involving government, law, etc. - basically anything that falls under the broad topic of "Civics" (which is also called "Government" in some schools). I am putting a link to their blogs here. Although these blogs will only be going for the next 3-4 weeks, its a pretty interesting insight into how high school kids think. Some of the posts are really god, others are somewhat immature. However, check them out and make comments if you wish.

This is a great idea. I'd love to comment on some of them, but then they would have a link to our blog, the content of which is not fit for young minds.

Just do it Pete. They're not as innocent as you think - unless you're referring to the picture of your girlfriend taking a shot from a plastic penis.

This makes me nervous. I would not give students access to your blog. Just keep in mind that if you give students access to your blog, you give their parents access too. And south pas parents are involved in their kids' schoolwork. sorry, i know you won't like this comment.

Exactly...But, Jeffs identity on the student blog is different than this identity, so unless they are super clever they shouldn't be able to see this blog. I'm still not posting on that student blog, but I do thinks its a good idea. I had a professor who did this sort of thing. Its like a Socratic Seminar only in written form.

Anyway, Jeff's blog is just about a bunch of Soccer nonsense anyway, I doubt they'd get too riled up about that...ooooooooooooh BURN!
